Last Night's show!!

Last Night's show was a good show to come back to blog talk radio with. I enjoyed choppin' it up with Ms SunShine, on the topic of "Single Mother's Raising Males". We had a little participation and I was glad to hear from my blog talk neighbor Mr. Magic, who has always shown support, as I do with his show. I enjoyed being back on the air, hopefully with more to come. Of course there is still not really a listener base to my show, but I hope that eventually that will change, and besides I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE. I am not a quitter, I have to keep trying, because hopefully for me it will lead to other things. It might benefit me in someway. I am definitely glad to have access to the "primetime" hours now, that may also be of some benefit to the show. I hope that people get hip soon and check out the show. I am about to get some more of my friends involved and I hope that will also bring more listeners in. I am trying to think about the music as well, which I think will serve as time breaks between conversation, and questioning of the guests. So join me, and I will definitely keep everyone posted on what is coming up next and what the topics are going to be about. Let's give it up to our single mother's who are raising male children, and any children on their own for that matter!

Heavy Hitter Wednesday!!!

Due to some server issues I encountered on Saturday, Oct. 16th, I was not able to do a show, on top of that I was kind of under the weather. Actually I am still under the weather, but the show must go on tomorrow night!! The topic of tomorrow night's show is "Single mothers raising male children". So I am hoping to have a good show, now that my show will be on during "primetime" hours. So I am hoping to gain more listeners between these hours. I am experimenting with the time, because I can do up to 2 hours, or even an hour and a half, which I think that I am going to start out with, because I don't want to over do it. My next topic will be about the topic that I know and love and that is "Music". I can do multiple shows about that topic alone..lol So definitely stay tuned to the Facebook fan page about the topics and features of each show. Definitely check here as well!!

Reko's RETURN to Blog Talk!

Get ready, because I am about to make my return to Blog Talk Radio. With featured artists, business owners, hot topics and MORE. So be on the look out. I will be back on October 16th, and I will announce the time by the middle of the week. I plan to come with more interesting things on the show. Hopefully, more people will participate, and spread the word, because I want this show to be a good one. On my Wednesday night shows I will have "Ms Sunshine" on my show, who will be chillin' with me and coming with some interesting topics. I will be using this show as a open forum for positivity, and discussions on topics that are important today. If you listen to previous shows then you know that I touch on different topics. I will also be having folks on who are in the entertainment industry who can give us the 411 on what's hot and what's not. Looking forward to having a wonderful show, and having more listeners. I will not be doing "Reko's Hip Hop News" any longer. It will be combined with "Real Talk With Reko", where I will feature artists on my show, and will also have discussions on REAL topics! So make sure you will join me!!

They have released their first album, and sent yours truly a copy, AND they released it on 9-7-2010, which was my birthday. I am sooo excited for them and I am DEFINITELY enjoying the album. I am looking forward to many more things from them to come. Since I am returning to the airwaves later this month, I may have to get them back on to see what more things that they have been up to. I know that they won 1st place in the istandard producers contest, down in Florida, but they posted the video amd I was totally proud of them. Young men knowing what they want to do with them selves EARLY. That's what I like. I definitely hope that I get to talk to them again, esp. since they have dropped this wonderful album. Also don't forget that I have an article still running about them on www.acrossthefader.com, that you can go and read it will tell you a little more about them. I will be glad when we get back on the air and THIS time I will have some company!!! STAY TUNED!

The Dramatic Return.......

The dramatic return of Reko to the internet airwaves, will take place the upcoming month of October. Somewhere around the 17th or 18th of the month. With this new show, I will be offering my guests the option of calling into the show, or having me call them, to speak with them. Also I will have more features available to me with this new show, so I am trying to get prepared. I will be combining both of my blog talk radio shows into ONE show. Although it will be more talk, than music, I will be featuring BOTH. So I will still be featuring new artists and hopefully interviewing them also, so that they can spread the word about their music. I will have more options as well for guests that call in, and hopefully will come up with wonderful new topics, so that I can widen my listener base, and not just get the most listens in the podcasts, but live listens as well. The test will be the actual listens. People say that they support you, when in actuality they don't. I will be able to tell. Again the proof will be when I return. I hope that there will be a fantastic return as well as more participation as well.

Last show for Reko's Hip Hop News 8/31

Last night I did my last show for Reko's Hip Hop News for a few weeks, I am going to take the time to gain a listener base, and create another lane. Because no one at all listened to the show that I did last night. I am pretty much talking to my self and big up'n folks who don't even support my shit. However, it is all good. Temptin' Tuesdays with Reko-the 6th Installment was broadcasted on 8/31, and I featured my boy Tut Grady, whom I am hoping will grace the show with his presence shortly. I am thinking about hitting up some of my friends that I have interviewed and trying to get them to give me some sound bytes so I can create some new intro music for Reko's Hip Hop News, and also thinking about changing the name. So definitely stay tuned for that. I am also seeking to create things that will have listeners coming back for more, so it is a great thing that the archived shows are available as podcasts and on itunes for listening pleasure. So far on the show I have interviewed 5 artist, which of whom I am writing re-cap articles of shows, and they are being featured on www.acrossthefader.com, which is currently down, and I am trying to find out why, because I currently have 2 articles running on there right now, about De-Capo Music Group & Phenom. so hopefully it will be back up soon. If anyone can give me some feedback as to what needs to be added to the show to make it a better experience for the listener. GIMME SOME IDEAS!

My interview with Internal Quest! 8/3

I was excited to talk with Internal Quest, because he does everything!! He is a certified studio engineer, producer, and emcee. A triple threat to the music industry. So throughout the interview I giggled excessively, due to slight nervousness. However, he was very charismatic, and a gentleman who answered my questions efficiently. It was funny that towards the end of the interview, he had answered all of my questions rather quickly, so I was at a loss for words, where I asked him did he have any questions for me...lol He asked me how long had I been doing blog talk radio in which I supplied an answer. I totally enjoyed talking with him, and he also told me to be on the look out for everyone on his record label, After Image Records. I vowed that I was going to show up one day at the Jersey Sound Lab and see exactly what goes on there. I was impressed that he explained to me about what would happen if I was an up and coming artist, and I wanted to work with the Jersey Sound Lab. Which is where he does most of his work. I have had the opportunity to speak with some very talented people, and I hope to see them rise to success beyond their wildest dreams. Quest also thanked me for being a vehicle to play artists music, whom we might not hear on regular radio, and that is exactly what I am trying to do, because you never know who might be listening. I also told him that he is always welcomed to call my show!!
